Jesus said in John 13 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” In what ways do you and can you show the love of Jesus to one another in our daily lives?

Author Fredrick Buechner describes compassion as the “capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else’s skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.” How would you describe compassion? (You might find it helpful to read Understanding the Meaning of Compassion). Can you describe a time when you acted out of compassion to help another?

During the talk, in response to the leaders choosing “seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom, full of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 6:3), Pete said, “Everyone has their own set of skills, talents and gifts, and life is so much richer when everyone is able to contribute towards to whole.” What skills, talents and gifts can you share in service to others?
